Year 1 had a brilliant day out on their trip to The Word in South Shields! Excitement was high right from the start as the children hopped on the Metro, gazing out the windows as the train zipped along the tracks. During the morning session, the children used an iPad program called SPIKE, carefully following step-by-step instructions to build their very own fairground models before using block coding to bring them to life and make them move. In the afternoon, the computing fun continued as the children explored Scratch Jr, creating interactive stories and animations. It was an action-packed, unforgettable trip filled with big smiles, brilliant teamwork, and fantastic learning opportunities from start to finish!
